Live Oak

Live Oak is the county seat of Suwannee County and is home to the Suwannee River and Suwannee River Music Park. The community has managed to maintain that small town feel that so many are after while providing convenient amenities to its residents. Live Oak’s location on I-10 near the I-75 intersection provides easy access to cities like Lake City, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa. Live Oak’s population is right at 7,000.

When it comes to shopping, Live Oak has a few major retailers like Walmart, True Value Hardware (Howland’s), Publix, Winn-Dixie, Bealls Outlet, Badcock, Lowe’s, Tractor Supply and more. While there are many chain fast food restaurants (McDonalds, Zaxby’s, Moe’s, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, Krystal, Burger King, Dunkin Donuts, etc) our sit down restaurants are all locally owned. We have several really good restaurants, some of which people travel here from over an hour away just to eat.

Live Oak is well known for the Suwannee River and many different springs located along the river. Our county is bordered by the Suwannee on the northern, western and southern borders. We have many different parks with trails, picnic tables and sandy beaches along the river.
