There are many different areas and communities with homes on the Suwannee River. At the northern part of Suwannee County that borders the Suwannee River you will find the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park which holds festivals and concerts year-round. This area has easy access to Interstates 10 and 75 and is close to amenities such as Walmart and many restaurants and gas stations.

The northwestern portion of Suwannee County which borders the Suwannee River is where the Withlacoochee River runs into the Suwannee. This area is pretty laid back and is where you will find the locals going out for a boat ride.

The southwest part of Suwannee County has many Suwannee riverfront homes to offer. This area consists of a lot of homes that are primary residences and the river tends to stay pretty calm here (meaning not a ton of boating activity). This area is not far from Mayo FL and it’s about 20-25 minutes from the town of Live Oak. If you are looking for privacy and seclusion, this area is perfect for you!

The southern part of Suwannee County near Branford tends to offer the busiest areas of the river. This is where the Santa Fe River runs into the Suwannee and the Ichetucknee runs into the Santa Fe. This area tends to offer properties with higher price tags than much of the county. There is a mixture here of large extravagant homes and quaint little river getaways. This is a popular destination spot for local summertime river-goers bringing their RV’s, water toys and even house boats.
